Potholes in central reservation

Reported via mobile in the Potholes & road surface category anonymously at 20:59, Thursday 29 February 2024

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 5651198.

There are two wide and deep potholes in the central reservation on the Bath Road here which are presenting a big safety risk due to the cars and builders van now opting to regularly park their vehicles on the Bath Road (rather than on their own property / elsewhere). This forces traffic to drive onto the central reservation to overtake and it’s near impossible to avoid the potholes considering the oncoming traffic. I fear this may cause an accident if not dealt with urgently particularly to cyclists and motorcyclists, drivers on the road at night and also not overlooking how all vehicles are likely to suffer damage.

  • The hole is getting larger and causing danger to pedestrians in the sheltered crossing due to all traffic having to enter the chevron area because a deliberately obstructive parked car.
