Dog poo at Brickfields

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 5658467.
Dear council, Brickfields and the green space opposite lymore gardens are really bad for dog poo. Every time we go and play there one of the children gets dog poo on their shoes or hands. We can no longer play football there because it’s such a bad problem. Brickfields seems to be a dog field now and is horrible to play football on- despite the football pitch there. The gardens around here are small so for many children these small green spaces are a lifeline. Recent research has shown links between living near green space and improved bone density in children- and they are known to have many other benefits too. But we are increasingly limited with where we can play. The small play parks are limiting for growing children and we have to get in the car to reach open fields from where we live. I wonder if you could look into this as it’s getting worse and worse. It’s bad on linear park and the walk to school too. We just want to be able to run around safely without worrying about it. Perhaps you could add more bins or signage or actually issue fines. The problem is that as soon as there is a bit of poo it seems discourage other dog walkers from picking up their dog poo. If they were worried about getting a fine they would think twice about it.
Also, when we were at Brickfields today there was someone walking a dog inside the fenced off play area. There is no sign saying dogs are not permitted in there. Please can you put signs up as children need to have dog free spaces as many are afraid of dogs.

The query has been reclassified to Cleansing / Dog Fouling to address the dog poo. Parks will add extra signs in April to remind dog owners that dogs are not allowed in the fenced area.
