Drains overwhelmed causing flooding to garages. Drains require checking for obstructions/flushing through.

Reported via desktop in the Blocked drain: Blockage inside drain category by Mr Matt Exley at 14:55, Thu 4 April 2024

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 5807131.

We live on the lowest part of a cul-de-sac, No 5 Rotcombe Vale.

Not only does water from the rest of Rotcombe Vale flow down to us, we also get run-off from Eastover Road. (Water flows down the metalled road to some garages at the very bottom of Eastover Road, bears left as gravity takes it past an oak tree and down a muddy path into Rotcombe Vale.) These combined sources of run-off quickly overwhelm the drains outside my house and by the adjoining garages. The very lowest drain is outside my garage. If these drains block, my garage floods and bee knee-deep on numerous occasions.

The dirty water regularly bursts up through the inspection cover outside my house.

About five years ago, a drain inspection team with a vehicle gave the drains a clear out/flushed through and it solved the problem.

But heavy rains this winter have reignited the issue.
