Broken tree balanced above path
Reported via mobile in the Vegetation overhanging a road or pavement from private land or property category anonymously at 21:59, Monday 13 May 2024
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council 11 hours, 47 minutes later. Council ref: 5969390.
On the path that goes up from the left of Freshford Inn (as you're looking at it), diagonally up the hill to the Tyning, there's a dead tree with a broken trunk. The top part of the tree is resting in what looks like a precarious position, on top of the bottom part of the tree. It's above the path and I'm concerned that, if it gave way suddenly, it could fall on someone.
The tree is on the left as you're going up the hill, about 80 paces from the top of the steps out of the field.

Hi, the hanging branch hasn't been removed yet and would be seriously dangerous if it did fall on someone - would it be possible to close the footpath until it is cut down? I am on Freshford Parish Council and we have had several concerned villagers contact us about it. Thanks

Hi, I have checked today (9/9/24) and the tree trunk is looking even more precarious- it really does seem highly dangerous to leave it hanging right above the footpath, please can someone report back on progress getting it brought down ASAP?
