Trees overhanging garden

Reported via mobile in the Trees and woodland category anonymously at 17:23, Sunday 16 June 2024

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 6113988.

Trees behind back fence are so overgrown they cover 2/3 of garden. Bird mess is a problem, 2 small children cannot play on the grass. Trampoline had to go due to bird mess damage. In high winds the trees shed huge branches, and we are concerned if they fell they would hit the property. They have not been looked at in 6 years we have lived here, problem is getting worse. Thanks for any help.

  • Thank you for your report. This site is next due for a routine inspection in 2025 and a note has been made against the tree's records of the issues so the inspector will take this into account when recommending works. You have the right to cut back the overhanging branches to the boundary but please note that there is an overhead power cable on the roadside along a section of Ashley Road.
