Business using household collection

Reported via desktop in the Business bins left out early or after collection day category anonymously at 14:23, Wed 3 July 2024

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 6186944.

This is a commercial property (short lets company purstay.com) - litter is piled up using household waste containers that are not generally emptied (and should not be used here, and are not large enough for the amount of waste being thrown out after each short stay?). I understand that the household containers need to be removed and replaced with commercial containers - they are not paying for household collection. Due to the amount and type of waste, vermin have been accessing the waste and scattering it along the street, which I would consider a health hazard. Has been an issue before, but household containers remain.

  • This will not be fixed until domestic bins are removed and commercial, large sizes installed to cope with the huge amount of rubbish left (and not recycled).
