Overgrown vegetation on fieldings road footbridge path and partly on bridge

Reported via mobile in the Overgrown vegetation in Council parks and green spaces category anonymously at 09:55, Friday 5 July 2024

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 6194080.

The bridge is being used constantly by pedestrians and people on bikes..the bridge is very narrow and the overgrown vegetation is taking up a lot of space. People have to step aside and wait until the other person passes so they can pass as it's too overgrown and they don't want to walk through the overgrown part themselves. I've started using this path since March and it's been like that from the start. The worst overgrown part is on the beginning of the bridge footpath. The pictures don't do it justice.

Updates

  • The swans are nesting by the river bank and that side should not be streamed. Today one of the Banes worker cut the hedges 2 ft from the swan nest.

  • Still overgrown on the path, my daughter had her legs brushed against the nettles. Very difficult to navigate 2 people or people with a pram. Reported this a couple of weeks ago and the council previously said it was the universities responsibility but they have said not.
