BANES hedge on BANES strip of land blocking pavement

Reported via desktop in the Vegetation blocking road or sign visibility - In a residential area category anonymously at 11:35, Wed 10 July 2024

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 6212705.

This is a BANES hedge, it is on BANES land per the land registry. The Hedge is now blocking access on the pavement near Ham Close as it is so overgrown.

Updates

  • Photo added for confirmation of BANES responsibility. This hedge is on a small strip of land that runs between the CURO owned land and the Parish Council owned playing field. The land is shown on land registry as owned by BANES, but often gets falsely attributed by BANES as not BANES responsibility. BANES have cut this hedge in the previous years, and also taken responsibility for the trees in this hedge, but nothing has been done recently. This footpath is overgrown and CURO will not do it because it is not their land. Likewise the Parish Council will not do it because the hedge and land belongs to BANES.

We have brought this up with the Ward Councillor in the past and BANES have agreed in the past that this land is their responsibility, although we have been informed in the past that for some reason the access road that belongs to you has not been adopted by highways.

Here is the land registry cadastral marked up on Parish Online, you will see a long thin cadastral strip running top left to bottom right, this belongs to BANES and includes the footpath, the hedge and the access road. for clarification.
