Blocked drains causing road flooding.
Reported via mobile in the Blocked drain: Blockage inside drain category anonymously at 22:03, Monday 15 July 2024
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 6233626.
Out of 5 drains along this road 3 of them are completely blocked and the road continually floods as soon as we get some rain and as it is the main route from Whitchurch village to Stockwood (doctors, dentist & shops) it is unacceptable that people old, young and with babies and toddlers have to avoid getting soaked by cars going along the road. Please can this be fixed asap (certainly before the winter sets in again) I have reported this a number of times over the last 3 years but nothing has ever been done.

Once again we are coming into rainy weather with winter approaching and yet nothing has been done about the blocked drains between Manor Farm Barns and the Whitchurch Village sign on Stockwood lane this. Was reported back in July and also last year, some of the drain are completely full with stones from the road, twigs, leaves and general rubbish and there are even plants growing out of them now, this road is treacherous enough to walk along with overgrown hedges pushing you closer to the edge of the road, stones flying everywhere when cars, vans & especially lorries go speeding past, I have been hit a number of time by fling stone from a rapidly degrading road surface ( but not apparently bad enough to fix when it was reported) and if the drains aren’t cleared soon it will become impassable once we get bad weather. I live in Whitchurch village but work in Stockwood so have little choice but to walk this horrendous route daily. Please can this be looked into as a matter of urgency.
