Overgrown tree causing chimney damage - outside 1 Lambridge Buildings
The tree has overgrown branches - in windy weather the branches wear away at the stonework and erode the chimney. There is extensive wearing in the chimney as a result of this. Please could the tree be cut back? It was cut back recently but as it's a fast growing tree it has grown back to the original size within a year and is causing damage to the property. Please could you take a further look into this?

A Stonemason has reviewed the chimney and confirmed that there is risk to life if this collapses. They have reiterated that the damage has been caused by the tree and repairs cannot be made until the tree is dealt with. As the tree is fast growing, cutting back will only delay further erosion for 1 year.

We received this email at the weekend:
"Hi Peter,
This will sound a bit odd, but while I was outside your shop on Friday there was a loud cracking sound. Another lady was walking past & heard it too.
We noticed there were several small pieces of stone on the pavement. I imagine a small piece of stonework fell from the upper floor, hit the pavement & broke. This was alongside the shop, (below a window), where the trees are - but it wasn't something off a tree.
Maybe you know there's a problem, maybe I'm just someone who worries, maybe it's nothing, but I need to mention it.
Mrs A"
As of yet it does not appear that this has been investigated, and we would stress the urgency of the situation.
