Pitt Rd/Nightingale Way
Reported via desktop in the Railings, bollard, & post damage category anonymously at 13:13, Mon 16 September 2024
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 6477047.
A resident has reported the following "I wish to report a dangerous health and safety issue, which presents a risk to the public of serious injury. It concerns the balustrading along the raised walkway connecting the upper part of Pitt Road to Nightingale Way. One section of this is completely missing, exposing passers by to a steep drop to the road below, and a second (higher) section, where the posts have rotted, is collapsing inwards into the walkway, exposing sharp, rusty nails and restricting passage to the public. The balustrading has been in this condition for some months now. The walkway is popular with pedestrians and especially pupils from Norton Hill High school making their way to or from school, and it is only a matter of time before a serious injury is sustained.
Please advise when this will be fixed, ie restored to a properly safe condition."
