Trees on Globe Roundabout blocking visability
Reported via mobile in the Vegetation blocking road or sign visibility - In the countryside category anonymously at 20:13, Tuesday 1 October 2024
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 6540082.
The copse within the roundabout is too extensive and reduces visibility of traffic traversing around, particularly in the inner lane. On approaching the roundabout from the A39 Wells Road, I took the right hand lane to traverse the roundabout on the inner lane before moving to the outer lane and exiting on the A4 towards Bath. The road being clear as far as I could see to the right around the copse, I entered the roundabout at a brisk but sensible pace, only to be nearly hit from behind by a vehicle traversing the roundabout at speed. Had the vegetation been cut back sufficiently, I would have seen the other vehicle and not have entered the roundabout. The other vehicle was at fault for taking the roundabout too fast, but If the bushes had been cut back, the risk of collision would be reduced.
