Traffic calming measure near 110 London Road West

Reported via desktop in the Potholes & road surface category anonymously at 12:05, Wednesday 6 November 2024

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 6700899.

The traffic calming 'chicane' is subsiding and potholed. Due to the differing concrete strip and asphalt surfaces, as vehicles pass over, its causing a deep clattering and rumbling noise which is easily audible in the nearby dwelling, causing a noise nuisance day and night. As heavier vehicles pass over such as buses, its now causing vibrations in the nearby Crofton House apartments. In general the surface along this stretch of road is coarse and has a number of defects from old traffic calming measures and repairs which add to the road noise. While the traffic calming measure is of benefit in reducing speeds, residents would benefit from its repair and a smoother and lower noise road surface
