Leaves on road at bus stop

Reported via mobile in the Bus stop or shelter issue category anonymously at 10:44, Mon 11 November 2024

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council 1 minute later. Council ref: 6717524.

Good morning,

I am a bus driver with First Bus. Last Friday morning 8th November sometime after 7.30am whilst driving up to the P&R on Lansdown I noticed a team of council workers clearing the pavement of piles of leaves into the road which I didn't think much of at the time. However about at hour later when I was on my way up to the P&R again the leaves had been compacted down by the morning traffic. Subsequently, on trying to pull away from the Hamilton Road bus stop (which is on quite a steep hill) I found it very difficult to pull away as my wheels were spinning on the wet leaves and this continued for each of my journeys (and also my colleagues) for the rest of the morning which in my opinion is quite dangerous. I would presume this will be an ongoing job in the coming months. I would kindly request that you send a road sweeper up once the leaves have been cleared onto the road to avoid this issue happening again in the future.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards

Graham Wilkes (Driver First Bus)
