Rain water not entering the drainage pipes

Reported via mobile in the Blocked drain: Blockage inside drain category by Mr Sean K Fraser at 15:19, Monday 6 January 2025

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 6939847.

The calvert is blocked in several places between clutton hill cottage and 6 Sunnyside. Therefore it's running down the road a eroding the bank and road edge. It then gathers outside of 1 Sunnyside and covers the whole road. The concert needs clearing and as well as the drains that feed it.

  • Still running and a strong smell of cider probably from the factory at the top of the field.

  • Water is still running down the hill and damaging the road edge, all because of a blocked drain which you have taken over a month to sort. If the weather turns icy the road will break up even more, and is an accident waiting to happen with all the surface water.

  • We had a letter stating that the work would start on the 4th MArch and nothing has happened yet. Thinking of having a duck race down the road to raise money to fix it.

  • We have had no rain for a week or more and suddenly at about 11am on a Wednesday a mass of water began to flow out of the drain. Maybe this is not a rain water issue and something strange is happening further up the hill and it being disclosed due to the blocked drain.

  • Will clearing the drain just hide the underlying issues of water coming from somewhere and not the sky.

  • The smell of rancid water and cider is terrible in this hot weather. The fly's and wasps are having a field day. Hope that the numerous cyclists don't have an accident on the dark slippery mess that is running down the road.
