Vehicle abandoned for last 2 or more months in lower end of Sham Castle Lane BA2 6JL

Reported via mobile in the Abandoned Vehicles/Bikes category anonymously at 15:35, Tuesday 7 January 2025

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 6946242.

A few months ago I met the owner, a young man who said he was now living on a boat on the canal. Haven't seen anything of him since then and the van has not moved. It has a clamp on one wheel, which neighbours say is not an official clamp and is there to make out, that he cannot move the vehicle. It appears abandoned. Can it be moved please?

  • Hello folks, we are now several weeks on, since I reported this vehicle. It now has a council sticker on it, but the owner has not returned and nothing has changed.

Is there any chance of getting it removed please? Thanks Neil

  • Thank you for your report. The notice was put on so we could investigate this vehicle, we have written to the keeper who has not responded. We took advice on all factors of this vehicle and as it is still in tax, mot and of historic value the decision was made to not remove as an abandoned vehicle as it stands at present. This could change if the vehicle deteriorates further. If circumstances change with the condition of the vehicle, please log a new report.

The report is now closed, further comments may not be monitored.

State changed to: No further action
