Roads not gritted around Fairfield Park/ Larkhall
Reported via desktop in the Dangerous road surface (including ice, mud, spillage or debris) category anonymously at 14:47, Friday 10 January 2025
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 6962421.
There has been no gritting of the roads around Fairfield Park and Larkhall for the past six days even though we have had snow twice and hard frosts with icy conditions each morning.
Looking on your route map the gritters should be coming up Marshfield Way but they definitely haven’t been.
This isn’t good enough, the slopes here on Mount Beacon are really steep and there have been numerous bangs and incidents over the past few days. We need the roads gritted.
Please tell me why this hasn’t been done.

Oh yes they have. On Friday at 5:00am I saw a gritter come down over Marshfield Way.

In response to that rude reply: I sent that email on Thursday 9th and there had DEFINITELY been no gritting at that point. Probably in response to that warning the council then did send the gritters round Marshfield Way on Friday 10th. So there, “Mr Oh Yes They Have”.

I also have seen the gritters out and about in the Fairfield Park suburb gritting the bus route, both early in the morning and again late in the afternoons. No complaints whatsoever about the gritting frequency, well done the council on that score. Original reporter needs to visit Specsavers for eye and hearing tests, and not get her knickers in such a twist. P.S. Nothing rude whatsoever about 2nd reporters comment.
