No passing place in Forefield Rise.

Reported via mobile in the Obstruction on road or pavement category anonymously at 16:38, Monday 13 January 2025

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 6974280.

Forefield Rise still causes endless problems for cars trying to pass when using this very narrow road as I’m sure you are aware. I pity the cars starting to make their way down the road only to find a car coming up. It is illogical for the car to reverse up hill ( without being able to see the road or another car knowing whether to turn left or right at the top to let the upcoming car have priority). Can you possibly arrange for a simple and inexpensive solution, as I see it, to have a sign post at the top giving priority arrows to descending traffic and a similar sign at the bottom at the Stonebridge side road, where cars can pass. The cars going up would be forewarned and far better able to reverse down to that junction without the trauma I have seen so often of cars reversing up. Many drivers cannot do a hill start in reverse and I have seen cars with high revs trying to give way to upcoming cars. Arrowed priority signs can surely be afforded in your budget.
