Danger to Pedestrians, Obstructed Entranceway, Obstructed Pavement
Reported via desktop in the Obstruction on road or pavement category anonymously at 14:40, Monday 20 January 2025
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 7006750.
The pavements at the top of Rush Hill (on the left hand side when facing the roundabout) are regularly used for parking by vehicles. In the mornings, cars use this as a drop off area, where they swerve on to the pavement with speed. I've had a number of close calls with vehicles doing this when both on foot and when trying to leave my property on a bicycle. In the evenings, people regularly use the pavement as a waiting area for takeaway collections. In doing so, they obstruct the pavement and the entranceway to Evergreen Green. When I've asked cars to move so I can gain access to my property, I've been verbally abused - this is not acceptable. On 19/01/25, the entrance road to Evergreen Court was obstructed for 30-45mins whilst a HGV completed unloading for nearby takeaway. This completely blocked access for residents who live in the properties - again, this isn't acceptable. Please can the bollards that have been installed closer to the roundabout be extended down the hill to ensure that pedestrians are protected, and cars cannot pull up on to the pavements. Please can these be done in such a way that they prevent vehicles obstructed the accessway to where residents live at Evergreen Court. Furthermore, can the double yellow lines be extended further. Pedestrians need to be protected, where residents shouldn't have to worry about whether they can access their property, or risk being abused when politely asking drivers who are illegally parked to move.

Example of routine obstruction to private road by cars parked on the pavement. This prevents pedestrians using the pavement and residents accessing their property via private road. This takes place regularly and on weekdays and weekends. Please can the council take measures to prevent this continuing.

Continued obstruction to entranceway where 8x households live due to public parking on the pavement. Please can the council do something to prevent parking on the pavement and obstruction to this entranceway - it is a regular occurrence!

This continues to be a daily problem, where residents cannot access their property due to pavement parking. It’s been over 5-months since this was raised as an issue. Please can the council look to address this? I see similar measures being taken across Bath to stop pavement parking.
