Mud on pavement and potentially blocking a drain

Reported via desktop in the Dangerous road surface (including ice, mud, spillage or debris) category anonymously at 14:25, Friday 24 January 2025

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council 3 days, 5 minutes later. Council ref: 7027716.

The strip of land bordering the playing fields of Moorland Primary school is understandbly used as temporary parking for parents dropping and picking up their children. Some of the heavier vehicles are churning up the mud on this unpaved strip and spreading it across the pavement and into the nearby gutter. While the mud on the pavement is unsightly and it would be nice if it wasn't there, it's not a real problem, but I am concerned that, being downhill from the road and gutter, that the drain may get blocked by mud and cause flooding. If you're interested in my view, rather than ban short-term parking, I'd resurface this small stretch so that mad was no longer an issue. PS I can't tell if my photos have been uploaded or not, they didn't appear and I got a message saying I'd met the limit of photos allowed.

  • The pin on the map is not where I placed it. It should be on Chantry Mead Road where it curves past the Moorlands Junior School playing field.
