Street light not working Claremont Walk 003

This new street lamp has been reported twice, fixed once and the second time the person who tried to fix it said the light had water damage, and would need to be replaced, that was before Christmas- it has not been replaced!

It now sometimes comes in with a tiny bit of light or none at all. We are in a cul de sac and can’t see To put recycling out etc. it also provides some Light to the pathway that leads to St. Stephen’s school which is used by lots of Parents and children. Please could it be fixed?

  • Following your previous report, we confirm that a new lantern is necessary. We will instruct our contractors to proceed with this work. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the light being out for a while longer and assure you that our contractors will attend to it as soon as possible.

  • This street light has still not been fixed, even though I reported it last November 2024. This is causing problems with visibility, Claremont walk is a cul de sac, there is no light now at the end of the road, we cannot see when putting out recycling, I have steps to my house and unless I have lights on in my house, I can’t see the pavement or road. The street light also helps shed some light on the footpath leading up to at Stephens Green, which is a regular walking route for parents with children. I was told by a Council worker that the light fitting needs to be replaced due to damp/water damage but that was over 3 months ago!!! Surely it can’t be that difficult to replace a light fitting?

  • We are sorry the work to change this lantern has not been actioned yet, we shall of course follow this up with our contractors and ask them to attend as soon as possible.

  • We understand that works are now complete and the light should be working as normal. This report is now closed but if there are further issues then please log a new report.
