  • I am writing to you about St Stephens Road. I live in 1 Upper Camden Place BA1 5HX and my garage opens onto St Stephens Road at the lower bend. It is dangerous for me to get the car out of my garage, as the traffic travels at speed downhill, and the concave mirror that was attached to the wall opposite the garage door has now disappeared. This situation makes me very accident prone, as I live on a blind bend, and cannot see up or down the hill once I am behind the wheel of my car. The likelihood of accidents on this bend is high, as St Stephens Road is constantaly used as a short cut between Lansdown Road and Camden Crescent, especially in rush hours. I am also writing about the very faded double yellow road markings on St Stephens Road. Of particular concern is the Keep Clear sign on the road immediately outside my garage, which is now invisible. This situation is worsened by the leaf litter that constantly covers the street most of the year, due to lack of regular sweeping by the Council. Furthermore, the double yellow lines and boundaries of the parking bays adjacent to my garage are frequently ignored by drivers. If they park even partially outside the bays, I cannot swing my car around to park inside my garage. This happens at all hours of the day and night. Please could you respond to the potential for accidents and supply some solutions, renew the Keep Clear sign and double yellow lines. I note that you have recently removed the leaf litter - thank you. I request that the leaf litter is routinely cleared in St Stephens Rd when Camden Road is swept. I look forward to hearing from you about these matters, and request urgent action. Photos have already been supplied to you by my Neighbourhood Watch coordinator Tracey Chalkley who has independently lodged this complaint.
