Salt has damaged bin - eyesore now more than ever

Reported via mobile in the Grit bin issue category anonymously at 16:11, Saturday 29 March 2025

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 7357231.

The salt has corroded/stained the plastic. It is now even more of a blot on the landscape than before - seriously not helping enhance the attractiveness of this rural village.

Ideally replace with a green bin like Somerset Council bins or remove!

  • It has also killed the grass around it as set back from road edge. It is not unfortunately on a gritted section of road (despite being on a school bus route!) so am not sure how the council uses it and its elevated incongrously above it. Strong wind lifts the lid too. More installation preparation (earth retention / base) works and design should occur before these things are seemingly plonked in space.
