New stone footings already breaking up
Reported via desktop in the Park safety issue category by Graham Groom at 12:22, Wed 2 April 2025
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 7376283.
Following severe damage caused by a falling tree, Council contractors completed work in November 2023 restoring the Grade 2 listed gate post and railings at the Margaret's Hill entrance to Hedgemead Park. Regrettably, the stone footings for the newly restored railings are already cracked and breaking up. As this has happened so soon after completion (c. 15 months ago) the contractors should be brought back to remediate their substandard work/materials.
