Excessive dropped pavements further reducing parking capacity
Reported via mobile in the Obstruction on road or pavement category anonymously at 19:19, Fri 9 May 2025
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 7547077.
Two properties on Milward Road, BS312DS, have finished works at the front of the property where the public pavement is dropped the full width of the property curtilage. This has probably removed three (3) on road parking spaces, constraining visitors and residents from parking here. On one side of the road, a section of raised pavement is less than a normal car length - meaning parkers may be fined for parking on dropped pavements (where previously parking was available). On the other side of the road, the pavement is dropped with enough space for 3 cars to park on that property's front e trance now, removing another 2 public spaces. All for a property with only 1 car. Althiugh a cul de sac, Milward Road is well used by non-residents (access to the town, station and rugby/football club). Please can BANES consider re-raising parts of the dropped curbs, or painting acceptable and standard car park spaces on the road in basic markings, to maximise remaining public parking space?
