Grass overgrown on Burnt House Road

Reported via desktop in the Overgrown vegetation in Council parks and green spaces category anonymously at 16:20, Thursday 22 May 2025

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 7606183.

Grass verge is too high and people are letting their dog's poo in the grass- please can this be cut properly as it's really unsightly? Not just the edges but the full area.

Updates

  • Resident called to update that this area had been cut recently but only around the edges. Can the middle of the very long grass be cut as the issue with the dog poo remains.

  • Resident called again to chase it up as the grass is now 3ft tall in the middle

  • Resident called to ask when this area would be cut as the dog poo smells and will get worse in the warm weather.

  • Thank you for your contact regarding the condition of the grass verge in your area. The grass was cut around the edges on the 20th May, but not across the full area. The cutting regime is part of our current maintenance approach, we schedule one full grass cut per year, with edge trimming around every 4 to 6 weeks when possible. This is in line with Bath and North East Somerset Council’s ecological and climate policies, which aim to support biodiversity and reduce environmental impact. However, we recognise that this may cause concern and we acknowledge that this has left the centre section long which may be contributing to ongoing problems with dog fouling, which is understandably unpleasant, especially in warmer weather. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.
