Overgrown vegetation

Reported via mobile in the Overgrown vegetation in Council parks and green spaces category anonymously at 16:29, Thursday 29 May 2025

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 7634315.

I have already complained last year. Council is leaving this road overgrown constantly. Today 5 men were here and just did the edges left everything in the centre. My son is highly allergic to those plants and can't breathe especially in the mornings. He gets completely blocked up and if he touches them he gets swollen with hives and redness. This area used to be looked after and the past few years the council have let these green spaces deteriorated more and more barely cutting them, maybe once or twice a year.

Updates

  • "we have reduced our mowing schedules to 1 or 2 cuts per year to protect wildlife habitats and biodiversity."

  • My son is suffering medically from the overgrown vegetation. We are along the river where we it only attracts rats and makes the prevalent rat problem in this neighbourhood even worst. We have rats everywhere. They came to cut the grass today and only cut the edges. My son has specific allergies to these grasses that are right outside our window and our front door. Please advise when you will be cutting this as it is ridiculously overgrown and has not been dealt with today by the 5 men that were here.

  • The large bush in the photo, located in the land of the maze by the Weir of the Pulteney Bridge, has overgrown, obstructing our view of the Maze and the Weir from the apartments at 9-10 Johnstone Street.
