Road surface rutted and covered in mud with a flowing stream

Reported via desktop in the Dangerous road surface (including ice, mud, spillage or debris) category by Tim Stuckes at 15:29, Friday 6 June 2025

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council 1 minute later. Council ref: 7672097.

This is a very dangerous road surface (impassable in winter) with the epicentre on Tadwick Lane 50 yards north of the junction with Langridge lane. The road surface from Tadwick all the way to Langridge junction has heavy mud deposits in the centre of the lane and cyclists and motorcycles frequently fall off if they stray into the centre of the road, particularly when raining. The hill near to the junction as pinpointed is so bad that normal cars scrape their undercarriage and swerve left and right to avoid the ruts. The stream needs to be channelled to the east side of the lane and properly drained. The mud removed (from the junction as far as Tadwick) and the lane re surfaced. It has got progressively worse in the last year and when it freezes the lane is impassable and lethal for those on two wheels. One pothole was filled yesterday. This has not resolved the issue.
