Vegetation reducing paid for parking spaces in RPZ

Reported via desktop in the Vegetation blocking road or sign visibility - In a residential area category anonymously at 17:01, Wed 30 July 2025

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 7956070.

This work spans two of your categories. Whilst you state that highway work is scheduled and so you won't deal with anything unless it's a public safety issue, your highway schedule NEVER adresses this problem, until I have chased it up, and I've had to do this over many years! 1. On Edward Street, vegetation is growing from the base of the rear wall to St Michael's Cemetery restricting the use of some parking spaces. 2. And, vegetation, mostly brambles, cascade over the rear wall of St. Michael's Cemetery. This is restricts parking within the RPZ. As residents pay for parking within the RPZ, I think it's reasonable to expect all of the parking spaces to be available. As I said above, I've had to chase up for this vegetation to be cut back for years, and even though I've asked for it to be added to the work programme, this hasn't happened. Please can it happen this time? Thank you.

Updates

  • The vegetation has been cleared as per before and after photos attached. This will be added to regular winter works plans.
