The Fingerpost directing motorists to Priston and Priston Mill
Reported via desktop in the Vegetation blocking road or sign visibility - In the countryside category by Penny Rogers at 10:35, Sat 30 August 2025
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 8094529.
This fingerpost is at junction of Marksbury-Priston road and lane leading to Priston Mill. It is covered in what looks like slurry and is barely legible. I believe you may have long-handled brushes that could reach the sign and clean it. There are some overhanging branches too.

Due to limited funding, repairs to historic finger posts are prioritised based on safety considerations. In many cases, parish councils have supported refurbishment efforts. Following an inspection, our Highways Inspector has assessed the finger post and confirmed that it is currently safe. Therefore, no repairs will be carried out at this time.
