Exceptionally bright street light

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 8250211.

The street lights in Staunton fields, particularly the one as indicated on the map near the grit bin opposite number 31, is exceptionally bright since you changed the lights a few weeks ago. It shines directly into our bedroom windows and causes a disturbance to sleeping. Can the bulbs be changed from the bright white to a calmer dimmer yellow? They’re very very bright and shines directly into the windows on the front of our house and I’m sure they must disturb the neighbours sleep too

  • We are sorry you are experiencing issues with glare from the light near your house.

    To help reduce the glare we have instructed our contractors to change the lantern and fit a shield to the front of it. We hope after our contractors have attended you will notice the difference.
