Water leak through road surface
Reported via desktop in the Potholes & road surface category anonymously at 23:23, Wed 8 October 2025
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 8271830.
This leak developed approx April 2025 and has run continuously since then in all weathers. Previously reported as FMS 7583345. ///finds.earth.casual Bristol Water has commented to residents that the leak is not from the water supply (no chlorine found). The leak is not noticeably smelly though it has developed green algae due to the run-off pooling. The pothole is slowly growing and the water is carrying fine clay from under the road. Traffic routinely drives at the road edge in this narrow section (approx 4.4 m wide). The dirty water sprays over pedestrians and deposits the clay on nearby parked cars. The nearby inspection dig 27-28 Sep 2025 found no sign of a leak from either water main. However it revealed a buried brick structure angled in the general direction of the leak. Could this be an old drain or culvert now collecting ground water?
