Falling limbs and moving trees
Reported via mobile in the Trees and woodland category anonymously at 17:24, Thursday 9 October 2025
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 8275478.
A large branch has come down in the recent winds and the tree is getting very close to our house. Not sure if the tree is slipping down the hill or if it is just a lot of growth this year but it needs sorting BEFORE the storm season full starts and causes serious issues.

Thank you for your report. The trees are growing on land that is not owned by, nor is the responsibility of the council. However the landowner has been written to informing them of the fallen branch in relation to the footpath. If you wish to contact the landowner directly with your concerns as a neighbouring property, which does not involve the council, they can be found through the Land Registry website and contact details through Companies House website.

I have already written to the LR registered landowner at their designated address and have been constantly ignored.
I really hope that these trees do not fall during this winter as they will at least be a severe inconvenience at worse cause serious injury and/or damage to any passers by or properties adjacent to this I'll kept area.
It should be the councils responsibility to ensure that any land owner maintains and regularly inspects trees on land adjacent to public footpaths and council adopted roads to ensure the safety or all users and residents.
Intervention now, Before any further deterioration would be the best plan of action and likely the cheapest too.
