Very tall tree posing a risk on Woodlands Park
Reported via desktop in the Trees and woodland category anonymously at 10:48, Thu 23 October 2025
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 8329750.
Tree is very tall and is not currently overhanging the highway or other properties but really needs to be cut back. Should we have a bad storm and any branches fell this would do damage to my property on Gloucester road and also fall in the highway.

Adding a correction to this as it was reported incorrectly - there are no branches to be cut back and the risk is not just to Woodland Park road but houses on Gloucester Rd. The problem and danger lies with the height of the tree should it fall down in a storm and land on cars/houses/public highway. Could this please be pruned?

Any update on this as this was reported months ago and also the year before that. This tree is dangerously high and needs to be shortened.

Trees are not necessarily dangerous just because they're big or tall or because they are situated within falling distance of buildings and roads. Trees in general do not collapse because of their height alone. It is usually because the trees are dead or dying or have a root or basal issue that is liable to pre-dispose the tree to fail. The tree is the landowner's responsibility so any concerns regarding the tree need to be addressed to the landowner.
