Broken down car abandoned
Reported via mobile in the Abandoned Vehicles/Bikes category anonymously at 08:52, Friday 31 October 2025
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 8359334.
The car broke down and had been abandoned (I saw this happen and the owner leaving it). It is on a residents permitted street but does not have a permit . The MOT is also expired so it is not legally road worthy and should not be on the street.
It is sticking out and making access and manouvering for other vehicles difficult.

Brunswick is a narrow street which requires parked cars on both sides to park on the pavement. The abandoned car is located at the street’s main turning point and its position far off the pavement has significantly reduced the amount of space to turn. Coupled with it being right near the entrance, the position of the car is a risk to residents cars, trade vans and refuse trucks.

We have witnessed several people turn the corner see the car and swerve onto the other side of the street. If you turn and meet another car coming down you have to back out into the traffic on London road, causing even more issues.

This has been under ‘investigation’ for a week but nothing has happened. Please can an update be provided? When will this abandoned car be removed?

Twice the week vans have tried to turn into the road whilst others leaving and have had to sit across all rows of traffic on London road to allow people to come out, this took time as people driving along London road refused to stop and were squeezing through, on another occasion two vans turning in at the same time had to reverse out onto London road during rush hour. All because this car is parked so badly/dumped that both sides of the street cant be used.
