Ground mats by table tennis table

Reported via mobile in the Park safety issue category by Bill Stern at 12:40, Sun 9 November 2025

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 8394477.

The mats have become a severe trip hazard to anyone playing table tennis. Both adults and children have mentioned this. Regular players have raised this with our group, Friends of Sandpits. The mats need lifting, the earth underneath needs to be levelled and stabilised before the mats are replaced. Thank you.

  • Hi, We too are regular players of table tennis at sandpits and are experiencing the trip hazard and twisted ankles issues from these mats. I thought I would report it, but saw this report from NOVEMBER 2025..! Now that spring has sprung they will get greater use. Could the mats please be lifted the ground levelled once again and the mats re-laid. Thanks Les, First Avenue.
