Leaning tree outside 80 Shakespeare Avenue

Reported via mobile in the Trees and woodland category anonymously at 11:35, Fri 12 December 2025

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 8538388.

This tree is leaning at a sharp angle along the line of the pavement and slightly towards the houses. If it is healthy and safe at this angle then there is no problem, but if not then it is at risk of damage to cars/houses/people. I have lived next to this tree for three years, and am not aware that it’s angle of incline has decreased in that time or not, but have from time to time had to cut off a small dead branch that was falling into the pavement. I feel it needs to be assessed as to whether it is health/ safe or not, or whether it is vulnerable to an incident in a winter storm. If it falls it will do damage to the neighbouring houses.

  • Thank you for your report. We have investigated and inspected the tree . The Tree appears to have suffered an incident in its early growth causing it to take on a lean, Its growth has adapted to compensate for this and is otherwise considered healthy at time of inspection.
