Large potholes on bend
Reported via desktop in the Potholes & road surface category anonymously at 10:20, Thursday 5 February 2026
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 8843623.
The bend on Staples Hill has had problem with pot holes for years and I have reported it many times. Teams come out and fill potholes and as soon as it rains heavily they open up again. At present, there are a number of pot holes on the bend, but one in particular is about a metre long, 1/2 metre wide and 30 cm deep, and seems to be caused by subsidence of the road surface. It is right on the bend and cannot be seen, therefore it is particularly dangerous for cyclists and motorcyclists. Since this is a chronic problem over many years I request the whole bend be resurfaced which, in the long term, will save B&NES money. Thank you.
