Pothole on Pierrepont Street in Bath
Reported via mobile in the Potholes & road surface category anonymously at 16:00, Saturday 28 February 2026
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 9018282.
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to formally submit a claim for the damage caused to my vehicle as a result of a pothole on Pierrepont Street. On the morning of 28th February (this morning), my car struck a significant pothole at the exact location shown in the attached photograph. The impact caused a flat on my front left tyre.
Following the incident, I was required to replace the damaged tyre at a cost of over £200, which I will have to pay in full.
This pothole presents a clear hazard to road users, and its condition indicates that it has been present for some time. As the council is responsible for maintaining the safety and condition of the road network, I am requesting reimbursement for the full cost of the tyre replacement.
I kindly ask that you review this claim and confirm the next steps. Please let me know if you require any further information.
I look forward to your prompt response.
Regards Zhen
