There appears to be subsidence under the pavement.

Some years ago, a hole appeared in the pavement. This was reported and the pavement was repaired. In recent weeks, the area that was repaired has started to sink. The tarmac surface is stating to crack and there is a definite height difference between pavement and the concrete step. There is a concern that subsidence has occurred under the pavement causing the surface to sink.

Member of public phoned Out Of Hours line to report this damage to path has gotten worse since the hot weather and storm weather started and now the damaged has opened up to a small sink hole around 2meters according to member of public.
Will need looking into asap

The subsidence is deteriorating. A meter rule inserted into exposed openings indicates that the void beneath the pavement is between 0.5m and 0.9m deep. The subsidence is a health and safety hazard to pedestrians and to delivery, milk and post persons delivering to No 14 Horseshoe Walk. Can bollards or a barrier be provided to alert pedestrians to the subsidence in advance of a repair being effected.
