Dangerous Path Damage Caused by Tree

Reported via desktop in the Trees and woodland category anonymously at 10:00, Wednesday 6 May 2026

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 9407130.

The tree overhangs private property nearby by at least 2 meters.

It is also causing damage to the path and several people have stumbled over the broken path and cracks recently including a child on a scooter coming down the path who came off as they hit a pothole caused by the tree.

The path is being broken up by the tree even more now it is growing and I fear this is going to happen again.

We considered getting the overhang trimmed but as this tree is lifting the pavement quite considerably already we're concerned that just cutting up from our fence line could cause it to lean toward the park and severely damage the pavement even more.
