New "Traditional" light is extremely bright.
Reported via mobile in the Street light fault category anonymously at 14:44, Tuesday 19 May 2026
Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 9476819.
I have notified on here recently as did a neighbour across the rd. It was attended to by putting a blackout material on one side of the light which closed the light off on Pitfour Terrace but has had no effect on my home as you can see by the pictures. It is like a major dazzling spotlight on the lower part of my home shining directly onto part of my sofa and lighting up my living room. It seems to be excessively tall and I do not know why the previous LED light was replaced?

We are very sorry there are issues with brightness from the new lantern installed near your property. Thank you for the photos which show this.
Your concerns have been referred to our engineer for review next week when he returns from leave. We have already approached the manufacture of this lantern to confirm a solution for shielding this lantern and await their reply.
We shall add further comments here in due course and thank you for your patience.

Further to above, we confirm we have instructed our contractors to fit shields to reduce the glare to nearby properties. They are sourcing these shields and will fit them as soon as possible after delivery.

Further to above, you may have noticed that part shielding has been fitted to the lantern. We hope this has been of help. We understand that yesterday you may have spoken with our engineer while he was on site who advised we intend to also try and turn the lantern which we hope will not cause too much disturbance. Once this has been done please feel free to add further comments here with feedback.
