Fallen tree branch.

Reported via mobile in the Fallen tree across road or pavement category anonymously at 12:30, Wednesday 10 June 2026

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 9594973.

This very large branch fell from the tree Saturday night 6th June storms and landed on the very busy pavement of the A4 and although this was an act of God it was there all day Sunday and Monday . On Monday evening I took photos of the branch and I was seen by a member of staff and Tuesday it was gone. My real concern is that the tree appears to be dead and this may happen again and next time it could kill somebody - the children from the nursery sometimes walk up the road with staff towards Pixash Lane and I dread to think if that had happened then or in the future - they have a duty of care towards those children and it's a huge concern for the many people who use this pavement - it's only two weeks ago that a smaller branch from the same tree fell in front of me. The wall is crumbling away around the front and side which adjoins my neighbour who has complained on several occasions and nothing has been done.

Updates

  • Thank you for your report. The branch has fallen from a tree at Ellsbridge House which is not owned by the council so the tree is the landowner's responsibility. This will be investigated to find out what action the council is able to take in relation to the highway.
